OUR ACTIVITIES
VMY Greece conducts activities that promotes personal growth and spiritual upliftment of its members, which includes:
prayer group meetings
VMY Greece members are divided into prayer meeting groups for a house-to-house evangelization and visit of each youth member which is done every Sunday. Prayer group meetings are facilitated by the VMY Core Leaders assisted by their Coordinators with the praying of the rosary and bible sharing and study.
monthly integration sessions
This a whole day activity done every 4th Sunday of the month wherein all VMY Greece members gather together as one family in unity and prayer as well as discussions of relevant topics and issues concerning the youth and group dynamics on Vincentian and Marian spiritual upliftment.
participation in archdiocesan and parish activities
VMY Greece members participates in various sacraments, liturgical and paraliturgical celebrations and other religious festivities as called by the parish (St. Therese Parish) and diocese.
participation in international events & religious pilgrimages
VMY Greece also provides opportunities to its members to join in international religious gatherings and events. They also are invited to join in religious pilgrimages organized by the group.
church ministries
VMY Greece members also volunteer their time in serving the different church ministries of the parish wherein they act as the choir, instrumentalists, altar servers, lectors or commentator.
community service
VMY Greece extends its support in the apostolate of the Vincentian Family in Greece in serving the community of Greek elderly people at “Kalos Samaritis” in Pefki. It participates in its annual celebration of the Feast of our Lady of the Miraculous Medal of providing food and gifts, bringing smiles and joy to the elderly people through musical and dance presentations. VMY Greece members likewise provide volunteer help in the feeding program services of CARITAS HELLAS as part of its apostolate. Currently, VMY Greece also extends its apostolate work to the Afghan and Syrian refugees providing to young children with weekly English language lessons.
