VMY visits Rome

Day 1 (Friday)

Departure from Athens and Arrival in Rome, greeted and welcomed by Fr. Gary Mueller, CM, went to our place of lodging

Visited Basilica of St. Paul outside of the walls (1st Pilgrim Church)

Day 1 (Friday)

Toured the Colosseum and the Roman Agora, finished the day with dinner together with the Vincentian fathers and seminarians

Day 2 (Saturday)

Started the day with Mass at St. Joachim Church

Day 2 (Saturday)

Visited Vatican City and St. Peter’s Basilica (2nd Pilgrim Church)

Day 2 (Saturday)

Went up to the Copula

Day 2 (Saturday)

Toured around the Vatican Museum

Day 3 (Sunday)

Started the day with praying of the rosary inside the chapel of Casa Maria Immacolata, attended Sunday’s Mass at St. Joachim Church

Day 3 (Sunday)

Back at Vatican City for the Pope’s audience, blessing and praying of the Angelus

Day 3 (Sunday)

Visited St. Mary Maggiore Basilica (3rd Pilgrim Church)

Day 3 (Sunday)

Visited St. John Lateran Basilica (4th Pilgrim Church)

Day 3 (Sunday)

Ended the day with a tour around the Castle of the Angels

Day 4 (Monday)

Visited the Saint Calisto Catacomb (one of the biggest catacomb in Rome)

Day 4 (Monday)

Rome city tour (St. Mary of the Angels and Martyrs Basilica, Spanish steps, Piazza del Popolo)

Day 5 (Tuesday)

Off to Assisi together with Fr. Gary and Vincentian seminarians, went to the Church of St. Clare, heared Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Basilica, visited Basilica of St. Mary Maggiore which houses the Porziuncola, where the Franciscan movement started

Day 6 (Wednesday)

Woke up early and went back to St. Peter’s Basilica, Fr. Gary officiated the mass inside the tomb of St. Peter, final Roman city tour – Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, souvenir shopping

Day 6 & 7

Last day Roman tour, souvenir shopping, lunch with Fr. Gary at our place of lodging, departure from Rome, back in Athens
